The Lea Women’s Institute is always achieving new heights with their never-ending whirlwind of activity. If they are not gliding the skies over Lincolnshire or strutting their stuff on the catwalk, they are baking cakes to raise money for good causes within the local community.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
Hosted at Lea Village Hall, there were a multitude of stalls including books, clothes, bric-a-brac and cakes. The event was well-attended by the local community in support of this vital cause. Macmillan understand how cancer can affect people’s whole lives: health, money, family, job… everything. And, after more than 100 years of caring, they know that the most important thing is to treat people as individuals, not patients.
The dedicated ladies raised over £530 towards the charity and take this opportunity to thank everyone who played their part in reaching this fantastic result.
The Bearded Fisherman
‘The Bearded Fisherman’ is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping adults, children, families and communities with support for mental health and mental wellbeing. They offer telephone, face-to-face and referral support to those that need it quickly. For 24-hour support ring them on 0300 365 0019.
The Lea Women’s Institute and Lincs Fashion staged a fashion-show featuring famous High Street brands to raise the vital funds they need to help others. Ticket sales topped a whopping £310! Grateful thanks go to everyone who contributed towards this fabulous achievement.
Among all that the adventurous ladies embarked on a quest for the skies with a gliding expedition from The Trent Valley Gliding Club at Kirton Lindsey. As you do!
