There was an excellent turnout for the January coffee morning at Lea Village Hall despite the very cold weather. The raffle proceeds were shared between the charity of the month and the Village Hall, with £16.50 donated to Prostate Cancer Research.
Thanks go to Lincs 4 Warmer Homes, who were present to offer free Home Energy Advice. Representatives will return for the February coffee morning, so do visit and chat with them about keeping yourself and your home warmer this winter.
The next coffee morning will take place at Lea Village Hall, Rectory Lane, Lea, DN21 5JA, on Friday 7th February and again on Friday 7th March. Half the proceeds from February’s raffle will be donated to Tommy’s Charity, which researches the causes and prevention of pregnancy complications, miscarriage, stillbirth, and premature birth.
Visitors are invited to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee for just £3.00, which includes a choice of a mouth-watering bacon butty or a delicious slice of homemade cake. The coffee morning runs from 10.30am to 12.00pm, and everyone is welcome.
Lea Village Hall provides a warm, safe space for those who may feel lonely or simply wish to get out and meet new people and they also host a book swap. Coffee mornings are held on the first Friday of every month, promising a warm welcome for all.
On Saturday 29th March, enjoy a fantastic evening with local artist Smudge, singing and playing music from the 60s to the present day. Guests are welcome to bring their own drinks and nibbles for a fun night of dancing and entertainment. Jacket potatoes with a choice of fillings will be available for just £3.00 each.
Tickets are £6.00 per adult and £3.00 for children under 13 years old. Doors open at 7.30pm, with the event starting at 8.00pm. To book tickets, call Diane on 07496 421212.
