The first Lea Pop-Up Pantry of the year began with a ravenous record-breaking sell-out! Not a crumb was left on the shelves after the lovely ladies from Lea Parish Council had finished serving delicious homemade cakes, sausage rolls and drinks. Thank you to everyone who went along to this event.
If you like Millionaire Shortbread, Rock Cakes and a traditional Victoria Sponge, you would have been spoilt for choice so make sure you get down to the next event! All proceeds are being donated to The Lea Park 50th Anniversary Festival, which opens for free on 9th September.
Planning for the Festival is progressing and there will be food stalls, live music, axe-throwing, wall-climbing, donkey rides, vintage tractors, ceilidh and much, much more. Raffle tickets at £2.50 a book will be on sale at the Pop-Up Pantry with a chance to win three fabulous top cash prizes of £100, £75 and £50. Don’t miss out!
It’s also a chance to meet The Owl Lady and her rescued friend Brillo The Barn Owl. Annette dedicates her time to nursing injured owls back to health before releasing them into the wild. Learn more about these magical creatures.
