Christmas Festival
Sunday 30th November, 3.00pm to 6.00pm
The annual Kirton in Lindsey Christmas Festival will once again see the whole town turn out to enjoy the switching on of the Christmas lights. There will be street entertainment, fairground rides, a craft fayre in the Town Hall, and, as always, the Glandford and Lindsey Lions will ensure that Santa and his sleigh make a special appearance. The Town Hall will have its own stall at the craft fayre, selling hot-off-the-press copies of the Kirton in Lindsey 2026 calendar. It will also be the last chance to buy tickets for the Town Hall Prize Draw, which will be drawn on the night.
The Singing for Pleasure Choir Winter Concert

There will be solos, readings and plenty of opportunities to join in, all accompanied by a festive atmosphere and an open bar. Tickets cost £8.00 and can be reserved by contacting Mary on 01652 648435, or purchased on the door.
The Lincoln Waites present Crying Christmas
Tuesday 16th December, 7.30pm
Dating back to the 1480s, the festive period was once a lively mix of religious observance, gambling and celebration. On St Thomas’s Day (21st December), the Cries of Christmas proclaimed the start of the season when all men were free to enjoy themselves, free from arrest except by royal decree.
In the 16th century, the words of the Cries were written down to preserve them on a flyleaf in the Common Council records of Lincoln for 1565. The Cries would have been delivered by the City of Lincoln Waites – the mayor’s musicians. The modern Lincoln Waites were re-formed in 2007 and officially recognised as the Mayor of Lincoln’s musicians in 2009. They are proud to keep this ancient Christmas tradition alive.
Tickets for the Lincoln Waites performance are priced at £2.00 for Kirton in Lindsey Society members and £10.00 for non-members. To book, contact Martin or Mary on 01652 648435 or email enquiries@kirtoninlindseysociety.org.uk. Early booking is recommended.
There is always plenty happening at Kirton in Lindsey Town Hall. Details of all regular activities and upcoming events can be found on the Town Hall website and Facebook pages.
