The Kirton in Lindsey Society wishes all readers a Happy New Year. Its season of indoor meetings continues on Tuesday 25th January at 7.30pm, in the Town Hall, Market Place, Kirton in Lindsey.

The talk this time will see the welcome return of Dr Kevin Leahy to talk about The Sawcliffe Hill Cemeteries, which are located between the Romano-British villa at Winterton and the Iron Age and Romano-British settlement at Dragonby.

It is the site of two Anglo-Saxon cemeteries from the 6th and 7th centuries, and it has a fascinating story to tell. Dr Leahy was part of the excavation team and will unfold the mysteries of the site.

Future talks include ‘The Jack Binns Story’, ‘The Lost Monasteries of the Witham Valley’ and ‘Farming Through Time and Seasons’.
