The Kirton in Lindsey Society’s season of indoor meetings continues on Tuesday 27th May at 7.30pm, in the Town Hall, Market Place, Kirton in Lindsey.
The talk this time is ‘A Swift Gallop through 20th Century Costume’. Social historian Janet Tierney makes a return visit; the evening includes an illustrated talk as well as garments from the period to look at. She shows how quickly fashions changed in the 1900s.
The June talk is ‘Crime and Punishment – Anglo Saxon to present day’ and will be given by Eric Jackson.
St Andrew’s United Church is open during the West Lindsey Churches Festival weekend of 10th and 11th May. As well as displays on the theme ‘Heaven and Earth’, there will be materials from Lincolnshire Archives and The Kirton in Lindsey Society archives, Tower Tours, organ recitals, an ‘Angel Hunt’ in the churchyard and other wonderful displays by the Brownies and local groups on the theme of ‘Heaven and Earth’. Homemade soup and bread rolls will be served at lunchtime and light refreshments at other times.
