The Kirton in Lindsey Society new season of talks starts on Tuesday 26th September.
Martin Hollingsworth will be presenting ‘The Life and Times of Dr C F George’. He was not only a well thought of physician,, he was also an excellent amateur photographer and keen antiquarian. He died 100 years ago in November 1923.
This meeting will be preceded by the Society’s AGM.
The meeting will also see the opening of a new exhibition in the Heritage Room of the Town Hall titled ‘Dr C F George: Physician and Photographer Remembered’. Many of his photographs will be on display alongside examples of medicinal and photographic equipment from the late Victorian and Edwardian period.
All meetings commence at 7.30pm in the Diamond Jubilee Town Hall, High Street, Kirton in Lindsey DN21 4LZ. Entrance fee is normally £1.00 including refreshments for members and £3.00 for non-members except for special meetings.
