May is busy for the Town Hall, as in addition to all of their regular activities they also have a number of special events planned.

Summer Concert by the Singing for Pleasure Choir

Wednesday 4th May, 7.30pm to 9.30pm
The Singing for Pleasure Choir returns for another evening of music, song and readings. This Waddingham-based choir has made the Town Hall its performance home and it’s always a good night. They perform an eclectic mix of music from Medieval to Modern, so there’s something for everyone. Tickets cost £7.00 (16 and under free), available from Jenny on 01673 818805 or at Londis in Market Place.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Friday 6th May, 7.30pm to 9.30pm
The Kirton in Lindsey Entertainment Organisation (KLEO) is bringing a bit of Shakespeare to the town, supported by North Lincolnshire’s Rural Touring scheme LIVELINCS. The Out of Chaos theatre company is putting on their production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream – reimagined in their own fast, furious and fantastically funny style. Two actors play all the parts! Tickets cost £8.00 (£6.00 concession), available from Martin on 01652 648435 or at Londis in Market Place, or on the door if not sold out.

Band Night featuring ‘Peacekeeperz’

Saturday 7th May, 7.30pm
Rock for Ukraine! All proceeds raised by this event will be used to support displaced Ukrainians. Peacekeeperz are a high energy rock covers band who do a bit of everything from Beatles to Blondie, ACDC, Stereophonics, Killers, even Abba. There will be sausage and vegan sausage baps to purchase on the night as well as crisps and snacks and a raffle. You are welcome to bring your own soft drinks and booze! Tickets cost £10.00 and are on a first come, first served basis. Contact Cath Delsignore on Facebook or email

Scunthorpe Concert Band

Thursday 26th May, 7.30pm
A welcome return for this friendly amateur concert band based in Scunthorpe. They are scored for woodwind, brass, and percussion and play a varied repertoire of music that is constantly growing and evolving. Players range from 15 to 80 years of age, and all share the same common goal – to have fun and make music. Tickets cost £6.00 adults, £3.00 children and are available from Ken Wardman on 07591 591504.

And finally – Kirton Call is back! This local amateur dramatic group has returned after over two years away. They meet on a Thursday night between 7.00pm and 8.30pm. All ages welcome but under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. They are always keen for new members; not just performers but also people to staff front of house and backstage. Why not go along and see how you can get involved? Contact Shani on 07955 738633 (after 5.00pm).
