Here’s what’s happening in our area to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee:
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon Trail!
Take part in this historic occasion by taking part in a free, magical augmented reality story-trail to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Located around Gainsborough until 12th June are seven magical characters on a day trip from Buckingham Palace. Join Sir Barnaby Beacon on the trail as he visits his friends; you’ll be able to see them augmented reality, decide what happens next in the story and even win a free digital fun pack at the end. Not only that, but each of the characters will tell you about a decade in The Queen’s historic 70-year reign. To learn more or start the trail, go to www.jubileebeacontrail.com.
Connexions Community Hub
Connexions Community Hub’s first outdoor event! Join them at All Saints’ Parish Church in Gainsborough on Saturday 4th June and help them celebrate the jubilee and our community!
It is a family event full of music, food and celebration. There will be lots of activities, with the opportunity to learn about local businesses and charities. Join them from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
Kirton in Lindsey Jubilee
Kirton in Lindsey Town Council and Hall are holding events to bring the whole community together in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Don’t miss:
- Beacon Lighting Ceremony: Thursday 2nd June, The Green, including the Town Crier at 2.00pm, and the ceremony from 8.30pm to 10.30pm. It is free admission, take your own chair.
- 50s Jubilee Dance: Friday 3rd June, 8.00pm to 11.00pm, Kirton in Lindsey Town Hall. £5.00 per ticket. Purchase at Londis or email email@example.com.
- Jubilee Street Party: Saturday 4th June, 12.00pm to 4.00pm. The Market Square will be closed for vehicle access (except emergency services). Businesses in the Market Square will be selling food and drink, or bring your own picnic (no alcohol). There will be craft stalls, live entertainment, a treasure hunt and 50s display.
Misterton events for Platinum Jubilee
Misterton Parish Council’s programme for events over the holiday weekend has been agreed:
On Thursday 2nd June will be the Bugle Call, Beacon Lighting, community singing, etc at the Jubilee Garden, from 9.30pm.
On Friday 3rd June there is the Civic Service, Parish Church; time TBC.
A Night at the Races at the Red Hart on Saturday 4th June, 7.00 for 7.30pm. Tickets cost £6.00 and can be booked at The Misterton Centre. Sponsor: a race £10.00, an owner £2.00, a jockey £1.00.
On Sunday 5th June there is a Family Picnic at the Old School Field, 12.00pm to 4.00pm. Ring 07889 402889 to book. Posh Picnic, Hog Roast, or bring your own picnic. There will be a bar, The Giant Hogweed Band, and a children’s entertainer.

The Big Jubilee Lunch by The Rotary Club of Gainsborough!
The Rotary Club of Gainsborough are holding a free event to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and celebrate this monumental milestone with the community.
The Big Jubilee Lunch is being held on Saturday 5th June from 12.00pm to 5.00pm in Richmond Park. All you need to do is take your own tables / blankets and picnic ware and join the celebration. You are more than welcome to take your own food and refreshments, but there will also be numerous food and drink vendors for you to purchase from too!
The Rotary Club of Gainsborough is a charity organisation that brings the Gainsborough community together. With bespoke events, they encourage members and residents of the local community to support one another and celebrate milestones, just like this one
Parish Council plans Platinum Jubilee celebrations
West Stockwith will play its part in celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with two events in the village.
Co-ordinated by the Parish Council, on Thursday 2nd June there is a tea for pensioners in the Village Hall. Invitations have been issued by the Parish Council.
Then on Saturday 4th June, there is a family fun day on the Malt Kiln from 11.00am to 4.00pm. There will be traditional games, stalls, music and refreshments; all are welcome!
Jubilee Celebration in Morton
Don’t forget the Morton celebration for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee; look out for the festive bunting around the Village Hall!
Kick off your weekend with the biggest Coffee Morning of the year. Free cake, coffee, tea, and drinks for the children, and music of the past 70 years to relax (and maybe sing along!) to. Why not dress to impress in your best festive outfit?
Please join in this very special occasion on the Village Hall lawn from 10.00am to 12.00pm on Friday 3rd June. You are welcome to stay on and picnic or just enjoy the sunshine and a chat.
