Christmas may be over, but Girlguiding Gainsborough would like to let you know what a magical time they have had in December.
They started the festive season by installing a Christmas tree at Blyton Church, joining many other trees from various organisations for a Christmas Tree Festival. Their tree enjoyed it so much that it stayed for a little while longer than planned!
Next stop, the cinema! A Girlguiding exclusive showing of the new Disney film: Encanto. Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers and Leaders from across the country took over cinemas for this event – Gainsborough joined up with other groups from Scunthorpe and Brigg. A little bit of candle magic for the girls, as well as the buzz of being part of something with members from a little further afield. Oh yes, and it wouldn’t be a Girlguiding event if there weren’t a sparkly badge for each attendee too! A magical badge to go with a magical event.
In all the excitement of extra activities to take part in, let’s not forget about the creativity of Christmas crafts of all sorts – pipe-cleaner angels, table decorations and tree decorations (hand sewn) to name a few. Chatting away, playing games, developing skills and friendships (and that’s the Leader too!).
Finally, it was party time! COVID would not stop this party, however hard it tried. Party clothes on, time to end the year with party game fun – and on to the next year and the magic it brings to the Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers and Leaders too.
Do you need a New Year’s Resolution? Have you tried volunteering? It might be the thing for you. Make friends, have fun and develop your skills. Join the magic with Girlguiding Gainsborough.
