All groups at Gainsborough u3a are now active, eagerly anticipating the arrival of warmer weather for their outdoor activities.

In late April, a small group from the Buccaneers embarked on a town trail adventure in Newark. They enjoyed a successful morning, following clues and discovering the whereabouts of the elusive golden violin.

The story’s authors even provided a helpful recommendation for a delightful café along the way, where the group returned for a well-deserved lunch. The Buccaneers’ upcoming project involves exploring whether Stamford offers a similar town trail, promising another enjoyable day out.

In mid-May, a small party of Buccaneers were due to set sail on a water expedition – 12 members expected to board two canal boats at Burton Water and spend most of the day leisurely navigating between there and Torksey.

The June meeting will feature a quiz morning, as an experimental change from the usual speaker format. There will be a variety of quizzes and it is hoped that everyone will participate and have a great time. Non-members are also welcome to join on that day.
