It has been a busy time for the groups at Gainsborough u3a.
The Buccaneers enjoyed a trip to Activities Away, where they tried out katakanoeing – two canoes linked together to make a more stable craft, ideal for those who do not mind getting wet. Their next outing will be to Cleethorpes for a treasure hunt, followed by fish and chips.
The branch offers a wide variety of activities, including three reading groups, singing, indoor kurling, garden visits, coach trips, snooker, board games and many others. Full details can be found on the website. New members are always welcome and are encouraged to go along for a look at what is on offer. Drinks and biscuits are provided on arrival.
The August speaker was Bernard Bale, who took members down memory lane with his talk on popular music from the 1950s and 1960s.
On Thursday 9th October, Dr Terry Newell will give a talk about Alfred, Lord Tennyson.
The group meets once a month at the Methodist Church, where there is ample parking.
