After the massive success of their previous musical outing ‘Sister Act’, Gainsborough Musical Theatre Society is delighted to be making its debut at the Plowright Theatre in Scunthorpe with the well-loved, laugh-out-loud show ‘Little Shop of Horrors’.
The meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names Audrey II – after his co-worker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivorous plant promises unending fame and fortune to the down-and-out Krelborn if he keeps feeding it human flesh and blood. Over time though, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s extra-terrestrial origins and intent toward global domination!
Little Shop of Horrors features several well-known tunes, including the title song, Skid Row (Downtown), Somewhere That’s Green, and Suddenly Seymour.
A deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood hit musical, Little Shop of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre-goers for over 30 years. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin) are the creative minds behind what has become one of the most popular shows in the world.
The production runs from Tuesday 21st to Saturday 25th June, with shows starting at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £11.50 for the Tuesday and £13.50 for other nights; booking fees apply.
Tickets are available to buy now through their Facebook messenger or through any society member (with a reduced booking fee), from the box office on 01724 296296, or book online at www.scunthorpetheatres.co.uk.
