Photocopies are available to purchase, and full-size or A4 copies of Marshall’s drawings can also be provided – so there is no need to leave Christmas shopping until the last minute. The next Heritage Talk will take place on Thursday 23rd October, when Ian Waites will speak on the subject of West Burton Power Station. These talks are proving very popular and are held at The Club on the Park. Entry costs £5.00, with reasonably priced drinks available from the bar – a relaxed and social evening.
The Gainsborough Heritage Centre is located in the old Post Office building on the corner of North Street, DN21 2HS. The centre has three floors of nostalgia, with exhibitions that are constantly changing. It is fully accessible, with toilets and a lift to all floors. The cosy café serves light refreshments and delicious homemade cake. Entry is £3.00, with free admission for children accompanied by an adult. Children can also enjoy a quiz sheet, dressing-up clothes and brass rubbings to make their visit more engaging.
