The Gainsborough Heritage Centre is delighted to be getting a steady stream of visitors through its doors, and group visits are proving ever popular.
Everyone at the Centre is doing their bit to make Gainsborough history come alive, with the brilliant displays, well worth a visit to take that nostalgic trip down memory lane. The Centre boasts five-star reviews on Trip Advisor, and was awarded the Historic Heart award in 2023. Staff are rightly proud of their achievements.
With Father’s Day coming up on 16th June, Marshall’s Yard will be holding the usual tractor event. Some of Marshalls’ tractors will be chugging their way through town to participate in this great annual event. The Gainsborough Marshalls association will be holding a stall with lots of books and memorabilia on sale for Marshalls Tractors enthusiast.
The Centre is proud to say that they are the only place in the country to have original Marshalls drawings, with life size copies available or scaled-down A4 size, beautifully mounted ready to frame. A brilliant gift!
The Heritage Centre is a charity-based organisation relying heavily on memberships, donations and dedicated volunteers to keep the wheels turning. More volunteers are always most welcome, so if you feel you would like to become involved don’t hesitate to pop in for a form and speak to one of the friendly team.
The Centre is open Saturdays and Tuesdays, 10.00am to 4.00pm, and is disability-friendly with a lift to all floors. Entry to the museum is just £3.00, with children free if accompanied by an adult. The cosy café offers a drink and a slice of homemade cake from just £3.25.
