Everyone at the Gainsborough Heritage Centre is working towards another successful year but would like to borrow the old war slogan ‘We need you’. They are always welcome new volunteers.
The future of the past
The Gainsborough Ghost Tour is a site-specific, immersive, performance project, developed in collaboration with Gainsborough Heritage Centre and local young people. The project forms part of Future of the Past, a national Heritage Lottery Fund supported programme. The Future of the Past project aims to support heritage venues to become more sustainable, diverse, and creative, while enabling young people to gain skills, build confidence and develop a lasting connection with their heritage.
The Ghost Tour places young people at the heart of local heritage. Creative participants aged 11 to 18 have been working closely with Taylormade Arts to choose the stories featured in the walk, develop characters and scripts, record voice overs and contribute to the design of the event. During the exciting performing days, the cast will appear throughout the route and deliver short live performances, pieces that punctuate the journey. This exciting Ghost Tour is at the Gainsborough Heritage Centre on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th March.
For more information pop in the centre, contact by email, or phone 01427 610526 during opening times. And look out for them on social media. The Centre is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10.00am to 4.00pm and is situated on the corner of North Street, DN21 2HS.
