Did you know that 10th to 19th March was British Science Week? 2nd Gainsborough Rainbows, 1st Gainsborough Brownies and 2nd Gainsborough Guides did!
Following on from an evening of International Women’s Day activities, where the groups debunked myths about who can have what jobs (gender bias) and broke down barriers to get into jobs, 16 science-based experiments and activities awaited 40 excited and giggly girls in the hall.
With their ‘Science Passport’ at the ready, Rainbows and Brownies spent the evening completing activities and collecting stamps as they discovered the different activities: magical potions, skittle rainbows, strong shapes, soap making, the roving robot, egg-citing eggs and investigating magnetism created a buzzing atmosphere of discovery.
Do you think you could spare some time to volunteer with Girlguiding? Whether it is helping at weekly meetings, setting up a new group on a flexible basis, helping at outdoor events like camps, assisting with day trips, Girlguiding is what you make it.
