Major Colin Bradshaw is adding up the receipts and discovers that, in the first three months of 2024, Gainsborough Salvation Army Food Bank has spent £7,956.62 on food to feed over 200 people a week (50% pensioners / 25% low-paid employees / 25% unemployed or mental health issues).
Gainsborough Food Bank is run by volunteers, with The Salvation Army Church covering all additional costs such as light and heat, so that every penny donated is spent on feeding people at their time of need.
Anyone wishing to donate money to Gainsborough Salvation Army Food Bank can either drop off their donation, or mail a cheque (made payable to ‘The Salvation Army’) or cash to: The Salvation Army, Beaumont Street, Gainsborough DN21 2ER.
Together we can all make a difference.
