Last Christmas, 465 local children trapped in poverty had a Christmas Day.
Working with social services, local child agencies and schools, Major Colin Bradshaw and his team of volunteers at Gainsborough Salvation Army made sure that every child that was referred to them received brand new toys for Christmas Day and 146 struggling families had a Christmas hamper, costing a total of £11,490.
Starting in November, church minister Colin and his team of amazing volunteers start fundraising and collecting brand new toys and Christmas hamper food totalling over £11,000 so that every local child referred to them does not miss out on Christmas Day.
If you want to help make this Christmas special then you can either send money (cheques payable to ‘The Salvation Army’) or give through the Just Giving Page (Gainsborough Salvation Army Christmas Appeal), or donate brand new toys to Gainsborough Salvation Army, Beaumont Street, Gainsborough DN21 2ER. They are open every Monday and Friday 9.00am to 1.00pm and Sunday 9.30am to 12.00pm.
All donations need to be in by 10th December.
