Singing members and supporters of Gainsborough Choral Society are looking forward to the start of another season with anticipation. The first concert of the season is Saturday 11th November and comprises two works: the dramatic Dona Nobis Pacem by Ralph Vaughan Williams, and John Rutter’s A Sprig of Thyme.

As usual, the Lincoln Pro Musica orchestra will be accompanying the Society and regular soloists Helen Winter (Soprano) and Terence Ayebare (Bass) are returning for this concert.

This will be followed by Carols for All on 9th December, and the spring concert on 23rd March 2024. All performances take place in All Saints’ Church, Gainsborough, starting at 7.30pm.

Gainsborough Choral Society, founded in 1860, is a leading choral society attracting members from Gainsborough and surrounding areas of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. Currently around 90 strong, the Society performs three concerts each year, normally with a full orchestra, and visiting soloists as appropriate.

Vacancies exist in all parts, and the Society would welcome new singers. No audition is required – you just need to be enthusiastic about singing! The first rehearsal of the new season take place at All Saints’ Church, DN21 2JR, on Thursday 7th September, starting at 7.30pm.
