Gainsborough Choral Society’s Come and Sing day on 11th May was a great success, and over 50 singers enjoyed a wonderful day of singing under the direction of Alex Greenfield.
Members now look forward to the new season, during which the group will sing two of the great choral works – Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana and Verdi’s Requiem. Sandwiched between these will be the ever-popular Carols for All.
The first concert on Saturday 16th November will feature Carmina Burana in the two piano and percussion version, and promises to be a splendid occasion. This work contains a number of well-known themes – several used in commercial advertising over the years.
Carols for All is on Saturday 14th December, and Verdi’s Requiem is on Sunday 6th April 2025.
