Gainsborough and District u3a

The Gainsborough and District u3a are planning to slowly come out of their COVID hibernation by organising their first Thursday meeting since February last year.
Their meeting is planned for Thursday 11th November from 10.30am until 12.00pm at the Gainsborough Methodist Church. All members and, potential new members, are invited to join their meetings. It will be a social meeting with refreshments, giving them the chance to meet old friends and, hopefully, new ones.
The new committee feel it would be a good idea to meet informally on the 11th and hear what the members would like from their organisation; for instance, should they still have monthly talks, and do they need more interest groups?
Some of the reading groups have kept going by using the internet to discuss books and the walking groups have tried to keep meeting, but with reduced numbers. The cycling, gardening and Sunday lunch groups have started meeting again. The art and kurling groups opened again once the village halls were available, and any new members could contact them to see if they could pop in to see what these groups do.
Gainsborough and District u3a is a thriving organisation with over 130 members which does produce a range of activities for those not in full time employment and aged over 45. They would like to welcome members to pop in and see them on the 11th. They would also be delighted to see anyone new who would like to join them.
Perhaps you have an interest you feel you could share with others and so generate a new group? The only requisite, really, is that those participating are enjoying themselves and are either furthering an interest or doing something they have not been able to do before. Their website contains further details. It is gradually being updated but can still be easily accessed by searching ‘Gainsborough u3a’ on the internet.
