The children of Willoughton are set to get a brand-new play area thanks to a £70,000 grant from FCC Communities Foundation. A further £10,000 has been awarded by the National Lottery Fund and West Lindsey District Council has match-funded £7,525.

The money will be used to install new play equipment on the Playing Field on Middle Street. Councillor Helen Goring of Willoughton Parish Council believes the facility will make a huge difference to the children living in the area: “This project will provide a real boost to the people of Willoughton. It’s fantastic that the FCC Communities Foundation, West Lindsey District Council and the National Lottery has awarded us this money and we’re really looking forward to our Play Area taking shape over the next few months. The Council has worked hard to make this happen and we are proud of what we have been able to achieve.

The new Play Area will be a facility which can be enjoyed by children of all abilities and ages, and we are excited to be able to provide this for the residents and visitors of Willoughton.”

FCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community projects through the Landfill Communities Fund.

It is anticipated that the work will begin toward the end of August and that the play area will be ready for use by late September.
