On Tuesday 3rd June at 7.30pm, a presentation delivered by Mr Frank Powell will focus on the establishment of a charity with the following aims:
‘To promote good citizenship and advance education for the public benefit by creating a lasting, poignant, and historic memorial. This memorial will commemorate the sacrifice and dedication of the population of Gainsborough employed by Marshall’s & Sons and Rose Brothers – some 7,000 individuals – and will recognise their engineering excellence in the production of military equipment during the First and Second World Wars, a contribution which has yet to receive formal recognition.’
Admission to this presentation at Gainsborough House is £4.00, including light refreshments.
