Anyone who would otherwise be spending Christmas Day alone is warmly invited to join the Gainsborough Christmas Day Lunch for a free Christmas meal and festive celebration. What could have been a lonely day can instead become a joyful and memorable occasion shared with others.
Now in its 49th year, this much-loved event is provided entirely free of charge. It is organised to bring people together to enjoy companionship, good food and festive cheer, ensuring no one has to spend Christmas in isolation. Everyone is welcome. The annual celebration is run solely by volunteers and made possible by the generosity of local businesses and community members who continue to support the event year after year.
The lunch will be held at The Blues Club, North Street, Gainsborough DN21 2HU, on Christmas Day, Thursday 25th December. The event begins at 11.00am with tea, coffee and nibbles, concluding around 2.30pm. To get into the Christmas spirit, there will be carol singing followed by a two-course Christmas lunch, entertainment from Emma, and a visit from Santa Claus, who will be distributing presents.
Free transport is available for anyone living in Gainsborough and the surrounding district who cannot make their own way to the venue.
