As we all gradually move away from the virtual world and life begins to return to ‘normal’, Connexions Community Hub in Gainsborough is taking the opportunity to be stronger, and bolder than before. With a general desire to do much more within our neighbourhoods, there certainly seems to be a strong sense of community around the town, with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and support for local projects, and the wider community.
At Connexions over the coming weeks, they mark the return of Coffee Mornings on Tuesdays, their learning programmes, which now include First Aid training, Level 2 Food Safety, and, at Level 3, Gold Arts Award. Connexions 4 Youth will also continue supporting and organising open days and charity events. In recent weeks, their young people and volunteers have been working in partnership with HATS and Leap on a community arts project in the Southwest Ward, where telegraph boxes were painted with some incredible designs. Following on from this, Connexions hope to do much more, through art, across Gainsborough, moving forward.
Finally, there are excited to announce a second social hub that they plan to open in late September. A project worked on all through summer, located at 100 Church Street, the property is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment before it can be repurposed as a social hub and creative space. More information on this project and all their activities can be found on their Facebook pages or at the Hub itself. Pop in anytime for a chat.
