With half the year already gone, it’s been very good six months as far as the Charity Nights at the Blues Club are concerned. This is particularly good news after a very difficult last few months of 2021; hopefully the increased numbers can remain consistent.
The continuous support and generosity of attendees has included some great donations, both financial and to the raffle; there was recently donated a signed Paul Gascgoine shirt which raised £600 – only for the shirt then to be donated straight back to the Club to hang on the wall! The Club offers a big thank you to the generous bidder.
The raffle constitutes their biggest fundraising, with all money raised going to local charities – none of this fundraising is used to pay for acts and entertainment (these are funded exclusively through ticket sales).
Talking about acts, on Saturday 13th August five-piece cover band Lady Luck will play, supported by Jimi Dee plus disco – great value at only £6.00 per person.
Then Saturday 3rd September will see fantastic Barry White tribute act A-Kay, performing first songs from the great man followed by a more general Motown set. He will be supported by Lyndsay Pepper, plus disco – all for only £7.50 per person. Please order your tickets ASAP to avoid disappointment.
Tickets for either event can be ordered through the normal channels, or by ringing 07931 762159 (or 07508 320243 after 6.30pm weekdays). The organising committee offers thanks for your continuous support; please keep the raffle prizes coming!
They hope to see you all at the next Charity Night.
