A special presentation has been made to the past Mayor of Newark and dedicated supporter of the Bomber Gateway Trust, Laurence Goff.

Charity Trustee Charlie White and Chairman Ken Sadler thanked volunteer fundraiser Laurence following his work to raise over £11,000 for ‘On Freedom’s Wings’.

As previously reported, The Bomber County Gateway Trust was formed with the object of designing, procuring, constructing and installing a full size sculpture of a Lancaster Bomber to pay tribute to the men of Bomber Command from WWII.

They hope to site this iconic landmark at the side of the A46 crossing from Nottinghamshire into Lincolnshire, the home of many airfields from which the Lancaster flew, and are appealing for help to secure the final donations which will make the project a reality.
