As the summer season closes, Beckingham and District Gardeners’ Club moves forward into their autumn and winter programme.
The next meeting will be on Monday 16th October at 7.30pm in Beckingham Recreation Room. Hannah Sylvester, Medical Herbalist, will not only be advising members of plants that can be grown in the garden to benefit a healthier lifestyle, but will also be bringing samples of herbal tinctures that she has made, for members to try.
Maintaining food security and the importance of encouraging pollinators into our gardens and open spaces, is very topical now. The speakers on Monday 20th November are David Wright and Laura Grundy, who will be talking about local moths and butterflies and the plants that can encourage them to visit.
If you are interested in gardening, the environment or related subjects why not go along to the meetings. It is a small club and visitors will be made very welcome. The club charges £4.00 for visitors, which includes refreshments.
