Beckingham and District Gardeners’ Club

by | 9 September 2024 | Gainsborough, Gardening Club, Hobbies

Beckingham and District Gardeners’ Club members visited a fabulous garden in July. The garden, at Tyne House, Leverton Road, Retford, is owned by Colin Bowler and for garden enthusiasts, it is a garden not to be missed. Not only does it contain magnificent plants, it also has many eye catching Copper Sculptures, all made by Colin. Members would like to say a big thank you to Colin for being such a fantastic host.

The speaker at the meeting on Monday 16th September at 7.30pm will be Sue Smith, speaking on a ‘Hedgehog Odyssey’. Sue has spent many years caring for hedgehogs at 7th Heaven Hedgehog Rescue, from which she has recently retired. Sue will share tips of how gardeners can help hedgehogs, particularly in the winter.

Anyone who is not a member of the club, but is interested in listening to any of the speakers, is welcome to any meeting. The club charges £4.00 for visitors, or an annual subscription of £15.00 per member or £20.00 for a family, which includes refreshments, if you wish to join. The meetings are held in Beckingham Recreation Room and start at 7.30pm.

If you are interested in gardening, the environment or related subjects why not go along to the meetings? It is a small club and visitors or new members will be made very welcome. For more information, please contact Pat Hooton on 01427 890357 or 07776 060247.
