Beckingham and District Gardeners Club

Beckingham Gardeners’ Club had to cancel their meeting on Monday 19th September, as a mark of respect on the death of the Queen. The speaker Andrew Robinson, who was to give a talk on ‘All you need to know about Dahlias’, will be rebooked to speak next year.

The speaker at the meeting on Monday 21st November at 7.30pm will be Pam Tatum, talking about ‘My Garden Odyssey’. Pam is a very experienced gardener and her talks are not only informational, but also humorous.

The speaker on Monday 19th December at 7.30pm may be of interest to those of you interested in making a Christmas floral decoration. Sheila Clark, a well-known floral arranger, will be holding a ‘Floral Workshop’. The workshop is aimed at not only beginners to flower arranging, but also at experienced flower arrangers. The workshop will be great fun and everyone will take home with them their own unique Christmas Floral Decoration.

If you are not a member of the club, but would like to attend the floral workshop, please get in touch for further information. You will then be informed what you need to bring with you to the workshop.

If you are interested in gardening, the environment or related subjects why not go along to the club’s meetings? They are usually held on the third Monday of each month, at 7.30pm in Beckingham Recreation Room. It is a small club and visitors will be made very welcome. As well as talks from interesting gardeners and naturalists, members like to socialise, and have organised trips to gardens and places of gardening interest.
