As we move towards the start of a new year, Beckingham and District Gardeners’ Club members are starting to make plans for the growing season ahead.
Their season begins on Monday 18th January with a social get together and a gardening question and answer session, with expert horticulturists.
The speaker at the meeting on Monday 19th February will be Stephen Lovell, with his talk ‘Bark, Berry and Leaf Texture in the Garden’. Stephen is an excellent, very knowledgeable horticulturist.
For those gardeners who are thinking of making a pond in 2024, the meeting on Monday 18th March is one not to miss, as Dawn Fisher talks on ‘Developing a Wildlife Pond’.
Anyone who is not a member of the club, but is interested in listening to any of the speakers, is welcome to go along to any meeting. The club charges £4.00 for visitors, which includes refreshments. The meetings are held in Beckingham Recreation Room and start at 7.30pm.
If you are interested in gardening, the environment or related subjects, this small, friendly club could be for you. For more information, contact Pat Hooton on 01427 890357 or 07776 060247.
