There was an excellent turn out of well established and newer members at the January meeting of Snappers Camera Club in Beckingham on 4th January.
The first part of the meeting was the Club’s AGM, followed by a showing of members’ images from the festive December table top sessions which offered inspiration on how to create an attractive shot with limited props and demonstrated how interpretations can differ, especially during the processing phase.
Some of those who were unable to attend in December had brought other shots to show. Des Lloyd had been photographing the corvid family of birds, Alan Burkwood brought some of his latest monochrome shots and John Turner brought a colour shot with his phone and an enlarged and processed version of the same shot printed at A3.
February is a unique meeting in the Club’s calendar as they hold their competition. There is a trophy named in memory of their late Leader, Alan Townsend. Many of the long-standing members owe much to Alan for his inspiration and teaching, and it is a good opportunity to remember him fondly.
All members can enter and need to take prints of three images taken in 2023 to the meeting. They should be A4 in size and must represent three different genres of photography to demonstrate skill across a range of subjects. There is a guest judge and entries are judged anonymously.
There is no membership fee for the Club – just go along and pay your attendance fee. If you like what you see, you can provide your email address to be included on the club circulation and be kept up to date with any news or events. Visitors are welcome at any time.
