Austen Addicts welcomes everyone who enjoys reading Jane Austen, watching film adaptations, and learning more about the time when she was writing – especially its costumes and food!
The group’s meetings take place in Sutton cum Lound Village Hall, near Retford, at 7.00pm.
This is their programme through to the autumn:
- Thursday 2nd July: ‘The Experimental Housekeeping of Jane Austen’s good friend Martha Lloyd’ – a special performance by guest Jane Glennie. This entertaining event is open to the public and entry is £5.00, to include tea and coffee and a Regency treat.
- Thursday 23rd July: Jane Austen’s last novel, Sanditon – ‘Completed by Another Lady’.
- No meeting in August
- Thursday 24th September: ‘Postcards from Austenland’ – the real places associated with the author.
- Thursday 22nd October: A look at ‘Emma’.
