Open Arms launches community financial wellbeing workshops for local groups

by | 12 October 2026 | Community Focus, Local Charity, Local Experiences, Rother

This autumn, the Open Arms project is launching a new programme of tailored engagement sessions for local community groups across Rotherham.

The interactive sessions combine light social activities with informal conversations about household financial wellbeing, helping members to connect, share experiences and navigate rising everyday costs in a safe and familiar setting.

Workshops can be brought directly to a group’s regular meeting and include:

  • Informal discussions about financial wellbeing, including managing household budgets and accessing local cost-of-living support.
  • Tailored guidance and signposting to local Open Arms sessions in libraries and other trusted support networks.
  • Group activities and discussions designed to encourage peer support, sharing ideas and stronger social connections.
  • Facilitators, discussion materials and refreshments provided by Open Arms.

Book a session

Lunch clubs, coffee mornings, support networks, tenant associations and other local community groups are welcome to take part. Sessions are free of charge and typically last between 30 and 60 minutes, with timings tailored to fit the group’s regular meeting. Open Arms can visit an existing venue or arrange a dedicated space at a local community hub.
