December is set to be a busy and festive month at St Laurence Church in Corringham. The usual coffee morning will take place in the community hub on Saturday 13th December from 9.30am to 11.30am, offering plenty of tea, coffee, cakes, and friendly conversation. A special Christmas coffee morning will follow on Saturday 20th December from 9.30am to 11.30am, when the draw for the Christmas raffle will take place. To purchase raffle tickets, contact Jo or Trish. Please note there will be no coffee morning on Saturday 27th December.
The community hub will also host the monthly bingo session on Wednesday 17th December at 2.00pm. In addition, Viking Yoga now holds a chair yoga class every Friday from 10.00am to 11.00am. For details, contact Angela at Viking Yoga. On Friday 19th December at 6.00pm, the church will be the starting point for the much-loved annual Lantern Walk. This wonderful Christmas tradition begins at the church and processes to Red House Farm, with readings and carols along the way accompanied by the Willingham Band. Light refreshments will be served at Red House Farm, and special thanks go to Rosi and Matthew Fieldson and family for organising and hosting the event.
There will also be a service of Carols by Candlelight at 7.00pm on Christmas Eve, featuring traditional carols and readings, followed by light refreshments.
