Gainsborough u3a meets once a month on Thursday mornings between 10.00am and 12.00pm downstairs at the Methodist Church. The September meeting featured guest speaker Joy Wood, who gave an engaging and humorous talk about her career in the NHS. After leaving nursing, Joy pursued her dream of becoming a writer and has now published seven novels.
The November speaker will be Dr Susie Kitson, who will talk about her experiences volunteering in rural Nepal.
Members also recently enjoyed a successful trip to Cleethorpes, which included a town treasure trail, delicious fish and chips, and beautiful weather – always a welcome bonus.
