The Gainsborough and District Flower Club will hold its Christmas Open Meeting on Thursday 27th November. This special event is open to the general public and is ticket-only, so early booking is advised. Tickets are priced at £15.00 and are available on the door or in advance by calling 01427 372181. (Please note that tickets are non-refundable.)
The evening promises to be a fabulous occasion, featuring a floral demonstration by David Ryland entitled ‘A Little Bit of Glitz and Glamour’. David is a member of Penrith and District Flower Club and a national judge and demonstrator for NAFAS. A floral artist and RHS Chelsea gold medallist, he created floral displays outside Westminster Abbey for the Queen’s 90th birthday and was commissioned by Lady Cavendish to design arrangements for Holker Hall in Cumbria during a visit from Prince Philip. In 2002, David represented the UK at the World Floral Show in Glasgow with his demonstration Colour the World.
The event will be held at Gladstone House, 370 Ropery Road, Gainsborough DN21 2TS, starting at 7.15pm. There is on-site parking, and refreshments will be available, including tea, coffee, a bar and mince pies.
This will be the club’s final meeting of 2025 before the Christmas break. Regular club nights will resume on Thursday 26th February 2026.
