July has arrived! Exams are over and the holidays are here. For those who might prefer a staycation over airport queues and overseas delays, Lindsey u3a has plenty to offer throughout the month of July:
- Sunday 7th July – a week’s summer holiday to Newcastle and Northumbria
- Wednesday 17th July – a guided architectural tour of Caistor
- Thursday 18th July – summer lunch at Hemswell Court
- Sunday 21st July – Art Appreciation group visit to St Peter’s Church, Clayworth, to view the murals by Phoebe Anna Traquair

Lindsey u3a meets at Welton Village Hall, usually on the first Thursday of the month. Visitors are warmly invited to attend a meeting with no obligation. Doors open at 9.30am for tea or coffee and the opportunity to speak with interest group leaders in the Welton Room, followed by a speaker at 10.30am in the main hall.
The next meeting will take place on Thursday 3rd July, with guest speaker Sharon Hall from Lincolnshire Police (Nettleham HQ), who will present on Scams and Fraud Awareness. Her talk will provide valuable advice, sources of support, and strategies for recognising and recovering from scams. Sharon and a colleague will welcome questions from attendees.
Looking ahead to Thursday 7th August, Maggie Watkins – an official Mayflower tour guide – will deliver a talk entitled Mayflower Pilgrims’ New Beginnings, highlighting the rich Mayflower heritage throughout Lincolnshire.

For those unable to attend general meetings, there is an alternative opportunity to meet members at the Gardeners’ Retreat Tearoom, Scothern Nurseries, for a cuppa and a chat at 10.15am on the fourth Thursday of each month. The next coffee morning will be on Wednesday 24th July. Whether you’re new and curious about Lindsey u3a or already a member looking for a catch-up, all are welcome.
