Workhouse Players return to The Old Nick Theatre, 31 Spring Gardens, Gainsborough, from Monday 15th to Friday 19th July with a special double feature event.
FourTold – four short plays by writer Gill Blow… four stories, four moments held forever, FourTold by the people who lived them – portrayed by four accomplished Gainsborough actors: Phil Jones, Julie Holmes, Tony Weaver and Margaret Forster.
- ‘The Bench’ – Margaret needed the familiar comfort of the bench. He was there again – Tommy – with the shouting and rambling. But he was always there. It was comforting…
- ‘Gulliver’ – Martin just wanted his books and to be on his own for a bit. He didn’t mean for any of it to happen, and now here he was in the park where he used to play as a little boy…
- ‘Argentine Tango’ – Beryl decided right then she wanted to learn the Argentine Tango… so here she was, looking for a partner…
- ‘Missing’ – Elsie knew everything there was to know about those posters – she’d made it her business to know…
The World and Everything Else – a new political satire by Corringham writer Max Jones. The election has been run, the results are in… Finance Minister Julius is about to get a rude awakening in more ways than one. Portrayed by three Gainsborough actors: Phil Jones, Jordan Beasant and Shiela Jennings.
