In just two years, Gainsborough Men’s Shed has grown into a thriving hub of activity, friendship, and opportunity for men and women aged 18 and over. Established in May 2023, it offers a welcoming and friendly space where members can connect, learn, and take part in a range of hands-on and social activities.
The Shed caters to a wide variety of interests. A fully equipped workshop invites woodworking and woodturning enthusiasts, while a separate area hosts social gatherings, model-making, cycle repairs, crafting, cooking, and more. Membership costs just £20.00 per year, offering excellent value and a wide range of benefits.
Members have access to all the Shed’s equipment and materials, along with opportunities to develop new skills or enhance existing ones. They can take part in community projects, attend social and educational events, and form lasting friendships in a supportive environment.
Music also plays a key role in the Shed’s spirit, bringing together musicians and singers – some of whom perform in the in-house band, The Shedders.
Looking ahead, work is due to begin on a nearby allotment, which will provide gardening opportunities and the benefits of spending time together in the open air.
Gainsborough Men’s Shed warmly welcomes everyone – men and women – into its growing community. By working together, the Shed creates a space where everyone can enjoy themselves while nurturing a spirit of creativity and connection.
The Shed is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
