There was a very good turnout for the February coffee morning at Lea Village Hall despite the very cold weather. The raffle proceeds were divided between the charity of the month, Tommy’s, and the Village Hall. Thank you to all who bought tickets. It was lovely to see some new faces alongside the regulars.

Thank also go to Lincs 4 Warmer Homes, who were there to offer free home energy advice.

The next coffee morning will take place at Lea Village Hall, Rectory Lane, Lea, DN21 5JA, on Friday 7th March, followed by Friday 4th April. Half the proceeds from the March raffle will be donated to Marie Curie, which provides better end-of-life care for more people, whatever the illness, and funds palliative care research.

Everyone is invited to the Village Hall to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, available for just £3.00, along with either a mouth-watering bacon butty or a tasty slice of homemade cake. The coffee morning will run from 10.30am to 12.00pm, and all are welcome.

The Village Hall offers a safe, warm space for anyone who may feel lonely or simply wishes to meet new people. A book swap is also available. The coffee mornings take place on the first Friday of every month, and a warm welcome awaits all who attend.

On Saturday 29th March, the fantastic local artist Smudge will be performing at the Hall, singing and playing music from the 60s to the present day. Attendees are welcome to bring their own drinks and nibbles for a night of dancing and entertainment. Jacket potatoes with a choice of fillings will be available for just £3.00 each. Tickets cost £6.00 per adult and £3.00 for children under 13 years old. Doors open at 7.30pm, with the event starting at 8.00pm. To book, call Diane on 07496 421212.
