Charity Nights at The Blues Club

by | 5 February 2025 | Gainsborough, Local Charity

Charity Nights at The Blues Club, Gainsborough, DN21 2HU, aim to help others while bringing the community together. Admission is by ticket only – no ticket, no entry (strictly no refunds).

As 2024’s fundraising draws to a close, the charity nights committee reflects on an incredible year, marking their most successful year to date. Every single charity night was completely sold out – a remarkable achievement considering the challenges of the previous few years when continuing these events often seemed uncertain.

The committee extends heartfelt thanks to all involved. Special recognition goes to the dedicated staff at The Blues Club, including the cleaners, for their exceptional service. A personal thank you is offered to the wonderful team – Carol, Ann, Sue, Margaret, Gale, and Barry – who have worked tirelessly to make events like Valentine’s Night and New Year’s Eve a great success and for organising the raffles at every charity night.

The team also acknowledges John, Baz, and Steve for their behind-the-scenes efforts, including seating arrangements, ticket sales and distribution, and supporting the artists. Thanks are also due to Adrian Revill, who manages sound, lighting, and the disco. Adrian consistently arrives hours before each show to assist the artists in setting up, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

A huge thank you goes to the talented artists who have graced The Blues Club’s stage, always conducting themselves professionally and delivering outstanding performances. Meeting and working with them over the years has been a true pleasure.

The committee also expresses gratitude to everyone who has donated prizes for the raffles, particularly those who contribute at every event. Your generosity plays a significant role in the success of these nights.

As always, the success of charity nights is a team effort, made possible by the continuous support of attendees. The committee is deeply appreciative of the community’s backing and looks forward to many more successful events.

One example of the fantastic results of these events was a recent donation of £1,000 worth of toys and gifts to the Salvation Army Toy Appeal, made possible by the outstanding support throughout the year.
