Anyone who would otherwise be spending Christmas Day alone is invited to join the Gainsborough Christmas Day Lunch Committee for a free Christmas Day lunch, turning what might have been a lonely day into a memorable festive occasion.
This Christmas lunch, now in its 48th year, is provided entirely free of charge. The event aims to bring people together to celebrate the day and enjoy the festivities in the company of others, rather than spending the day in isolation.
This annual celebration is organised entirely by volunteers and is made possible thanks to the generosity of local businesses and the community, who continue to support it each year.
The festive meal will take place at The Blues Club, North Street, Gainsborough DN21 2HU, on Christmas Day, Wednesday 25th December. Guests are welcomed at 11.00am for tea, coffee, and nibbles, with the celebration concluding around 2.30pm.
The day will begin with carol singing, followed by a two-course Christmas lunch prepared by the talented Lynn Collins. Entertainment will be provided, and Father Christmas will make an appearance to distribute presents.
Free transport is available for anyone in Gainsborough and the surrounding area who needs assistance to get to the venue.
