St John’s Community Allotments offer full-size allotments on a non-profit basis, allowing local residents to grow their own food and enjoy outdoor leisure. The allotments are popular and well-managed, with some plot holders nearing their 40th year of tenancy.
In August, the allotments once again participated in National Allotments Week, showcasing a well-received photographic exhibition at Gainsborough Library.
With affordable rental rates, the allotments attract plot holders not only from Gainsborough but also from surrounding villages on both the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire sides of the River Trent.
There are currently two vacant plots available to rent at £15.00 per year, plus £3.00 for insurance.
