The Friends of Bassetlaw Museum Committee invites all members and those interested in their work to the Annual General Meeting (AGM), to be held at the Museum on Grove Street, Retford, on Thursday 17th October, commencing at 7.00pm.
This significant annual meeting will review the successes of the past year, present annual reports on finances and membership levels, and make appointments to the committee. The meeting will also decide the subscription rates for 2025.
Following the business proceedings, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the museum staff for an exclusive viewing of items from the museum’s collection not typically on public display.
This will begin around 7.30pm and focus on two themes:
- Hats and Bonnets, many adorned with ribbons, feathers, and fabric flowers.
- Vintage Toys and Games, offering a chance to relive childhood memories or discover the toys of past generations.
All are welcome for the evening, though non-members attending the AGM will not be able to vote. There is no charge for the event, though donations for refreshments will be appreciated. Attendees who apply for membership on the evening will receive full membership until the end of 2025 for £8.00, even if subscription rates are increased during the AGM.
