Town Hall Live in Kirton has two concerts in March and two in April.
Saturday 2nd March – Arc Songwriters
Featuring transatlantic singer songwriters Kate Ellis, My Girl the River and Anna Howe. The girls perform ‘in the round’, taking turns to sing lead vocals on Americana, roots, and Country songs.
The three gifted writers and performers create an intimate atmosphere singing their own songs, and others by the likes of Nanci Griffith and Emmylou Harris.
They also tell stories, share thoughts of love and heartbreak to bring us all together. It will be a magical evening. Tickets for this concert are priced at £15.00.
Saturday 16th March – The Alan Hull Songbook
Dave Hull Denholm and Ian Thomson from the legendary band Lindisfarne. Alan Hull, of course was the main songwriter of the band until his untimely death in 1995 at the age of 50. Some time later Dave, Alan’s son-in-law, uncovered 20 demos of songs written 25 years earlier. Dave and Ian set about re-recording some of the songs and in 2016 released 12 of the songs on the album ‘Some Other Time’.
Live, Dave on guitar, keyboards, and vocals and Ian on bass and upright bass play a sizeable repertoire of songs from the album many of Lindisfarne’s classic songs penned by Alan such as Lady Eleanor, Clear White Light, Winter Song and Fog on the Tyne to present an unforgettable experience. Tickets are priced at £16.00.
Friday 12th April – Sara Petite
Sarah hails from San Diego, California and is a force of nature. She is gritty, she is wild, she is tender with the soul of a child. Her songs range from rock to tender ballads. She will be accompanied by her talented UK band. Tickets are priced at £15.00.
Friday 26th April – Alice Howe with Freebo
To hear Alice Howe sing is to be enraptured by the natural, unaffected beauty of her voice. There is no artifice, no histrionics, just authentic singing in the tradition of the roots music that has shaped her. Alice will be accompanied by her longtime collaborator and legendary bass player of Bonnie Raitt, Freebo. Tickets cost £15.00.
