Lindsey u3a is part of a proactive, worldwide association promoting educational, creative and leisure opportunities for people who are no longer in full time employment. They aim to give a warm welcome to everyone. If you are attending a meeting for the first time, let someone on Reception know and a friendly Greeter will give you information and answer your questions.

Lindsey u3a holds a general meeting on the first Thursday of the month at Welton Village Hall; doors open at 9.45am for a cuppa followed by a speaker at 10.30am. As the village hall is a polling station on 4th May, that meeting will take place on the second Thursday (11th May) instead.

Keith Hanson will be the speaker in May, giving a talk entitled ‘The Bloody Tower’. On 1st June member Alan Barnes will be sharing his experiences on the open seas with his talk entitled ‘Confessions of a Retired Coxswain’.

In the ‘Gardeners’ Retreat’ tearoom at Scothern Nurseries the group meets for a cuppa and a chat at 10.15am on the fourth Thursday of the month. The next one will take place on 25th May, so whether you’re a newcomer or already a member go along and find out more about Lindsey u3a.

Coming up in May will be the Garden Group’s visit to the gardens at Mill Farm at Grasby and a coach trip in July to Chatsworth House and Gardens. The Architecture Group will be visiting Mrs Smith’s cottage in Navenby in May and Navigation House, Sleaford in June. You can sign up for these visits at the monthly general meeting.
