Lound Bird Club was founded in April 1990 by a group of enthusiastic birdwatchers based in the Retford / Worksop area. The purpose of the club was to record the bird life and other fauna in the land around Lound Gravel Pits. This area now forms a large part of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s flagship Idle Valley Nature Reserve between Retford and Bawtry.
The club’s activities have expanded to include a series of wildlife-related talks during the winter months and trips to nature reserves around the country. From September to March the club meets on the last Wednesday of the month at Sutton cum Lound Village Hall from 7.30pm. These meetings comprise a talk given by a local or national expert, refreshments and a raffle.
The club would welcome to its events anybody with an interest in wildlife and conservation.
Indoor meetings for the new year, at a cost of £2.00 for members and £3.00 for non-members, are as follows:

Saturday 23rd April: RSPB St Aidans near Leeds
