Making your own paper ‘Red Arrow’ as Lincolnshire is the ‘Home of the Reds’, decorating Gingerbread people (Grantham) and finding out about historical landmarks including Big Tom, the biggest bell in Lincoln Cathedral – just some of the activities Rainbows and Brownies completed when finding out more about Lincolnshire as part of a themed evening the night before Lincolnshire Day.
A big thank you to Lincolnshire Co-op and Morrisons for helping our volunteers to provide the girls with a fantastic evening of vegetable discovering, and food tasting – not a crumb of plum bread was left!
The hustle and bustle of Rainbows and Brownies at Lincolnshire Day gave the Leaders the inspiration to tackle Halloween in the same way. Rainbows and Brownies eagerly waiting outside, itching to be let into the hall – as volunteer Leaders decorate ready for an evening of Halloween tricks and treats… a few pumpkins here and there, spiders, cobwebs, ghosts, ghouls and things that go bump in the night! Making ‘Mummy’ friends, playing find the pumpkin, pin the nose on the witch and monster statues – lots of fun had by all!
“When are we doing it again?” – Christmas is next! Just a few weeks away. Watch out for that Naughty Elf and his friends coming out to play.
Join Girlguiding for fun, games, making, creating, team building and friends. Within Gainsborough, there are groups for Rainbows (age five to seven), Brownies (age seven to 10), Guides (age 10 to 14), Rangers and Young Leaders (age 14 to 18) and they are always looking for adult volunteers (age 18+).
